TUNTUTAN KERJA DAN STRES KERJA PADA KARYAWAN SWASTA: PERAN MEDIASI MOTIVASI KERJA

Abstract

Stres merupakan istilah yang tidak asing di dalam kehidupan. Kondisi ini bisa dialami oleh siapa pun dan dimana pun, termasuk di tempat kerja. Stres kerja dapat disebabkan beberapa hal, diantaranya beban kerja yang berlebihan, hubungan dengan atasan atau rekan kerja yang buruk, gaji yang terlalu rendah, dan waktu kerja yang terlalu panjang. Stres kerja memiliki hubungan dengan tuntutan kerja dan juga motivasi kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengukur pengaruh tuntutan kerja dengan stres kerja dengan dimediasi oleh motivasi kerja. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap karyawan swasta dengan kriteria berusia 25-55 tahun, memiliki pengalaman kerja minimal dua tahun, tingkat pendidikan minimal S1, dan bukan pekerja shift/magang/lapangan. Alat ukur yang digunakan untuk mengukur variabel stres kerja adalah Job Stress Scale (22 item). Variabel tuntutan kerja diukur dengan dimensi tantangan (challenge) sebanyak 6 item dan rintangan (hindrance) sebanyak 5 item. Variabel motivasi kerja diukur dengan The Motivation at Work Scale (MAWS) yang terdiri dari 12 item. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kusioner yang disebar secara online menggunakan google form.  Jumlah responden yang diolah datanya sebanyak 192 orang. Data dianalisis dengan analisis regresi berganda menggunakan Process Macro Hayes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan motivasi kerja memediasi hubungan antara tuntutan kerja dengan stres kerja (β= 0.06, SE= 0.02, 95% CI [0.10; 0.02]). Implikasi teoritis dan praktis dari penelitian ini adalah dapat menjadi informasi baru bahwa motivasi kerja menjadi variabel moderator terhadap pengaruh tuntutan kerja terhadap stres kerja dan organisasi dapat mengambil langkah untuk mengurangi stres kerja karyawan dengan melakukan intervensi terhadap tuntutan kerja yang ada.
