Abstract

Keberadaan anak penyandang disabilitas intelektual dalam sebuah keluarga dapat memengaruhi hubungan dan sistem keluarga secara keseluruhan, serta kualitas kehidupan anggota keluarga sebagai individual. Kualitas kehidupan yang dimiliki oleh saudara kandung dari anak penyandang disabilitas intelektual dapat memengaruhi well-being, sikap, dan hubungan antar saudara kandung. Tujuan kajian literatur ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana gambaran umum kualitas kehidupan saudara kandung berkaitan dengan adanya saudara yang memiliki disabilitas intelektual (DI). Sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian tersebut, didapatkan 3 artikel yang dipublikasikan selama 10 tahun terakhir yang diperoleh melalui mesin pencarian elektronik Taylor & Francis dan EBSCOhost. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, ditemukan bahwa keberadaan anak penyandang DI dalam sebuah keluarga dapat memengaruhi kualitas kehidupan saudara kandung, baik melalui dampak positif maupun negatif. Dampak negatif umumnya meliputi perlu adanya penyesuaian terhadap aktivitas bersama, tantangan dalam berinteraksi dan menghadapi perilaku saudara penyandang DI, serta tantangan dalam menghadapi reaksi orang lain terhadap disabilitas saudaranya. Sebaliknya, dampak positif yang dirasakan berhubungan dengan mutual understanding dan penerimaan, di mana partisipan merasa senang ketika dapat memahami kebutuhan saudaranya, dapat beraktivitas bersama, sekaligus belajar menerima perbedaan.
