Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat efektivitas MBAT (mindfulness based art therapy) untuk mereduksi gejala depresi yang dialami mahasiswa. MBAT merupakan salah satu pendekatan terapi yang menggabungkan elemen inti dari kurikulum Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) dengan pendekatan art therapy. Responden penelitian ini berjumlah dua orang mahasiswa dengan gejala depresi pada level sedang atau berat. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Explanatory Mixed Methods Design dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui Pretest-Posttest Control One Case Study Design. Pada penelitian ini, self-report yang digunakan adalah Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI-II) untuk mengukur gejala depresi, dan Mindfulness Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS) untuk menilai perhatian/kesadaran individu dalam keadaan penuh perhatian (mindful states) di dalam suatu situasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan adanya penurunan gejala depresi dan juga peningkatan kesadaran (mindfulness) setelah diberikan intervensi MBAT selama 10 sesi pada kedua responden.
