Kontribusi Trait Kepribadian terhadap Kepuasan Hidup Mahasiswa

Abstrak. Kepuasan hidup atau life satisfaction adalah salah satu komponen penting dari kesejahteraan hidup (Subjective Well-being). Mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi yang mempelajari ilmu Psikologi, perlu memiliki kepuasan hidup dalam batas-batas tertentu (Brammer & Mc Donalds, 2003), agar dapat mengutamakan kesejahteraan orang yang ditolongnya, jika kelak mereka lulus menjadi ilmuwan psikologi. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi kepuasan hidup adalah trait kepribadian (Diener, 2009). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengukur kontribusi trait kepribadian terhadap kepuasan hidup mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi. Responden penelitian ini adalah 478 mahasiswa aktif Fakultas Psikologi Universitas X, yang dijaring dengan teknik Simple Random Sampling. Dengan teknik analisis statistik Multiple Regression, diperoleh hasil, bahwa secara simultan trait kepribadian berkontribusi terhadap kepuasan hidup. Hasil analisis per trait menunjukkan, bahwa hanya trait Openness yang bukan prediktor signifikan kepuasan hidup, sedangkan keempat trait lainnya merupakan prediktor signifikan, dengan trait Agreeableness yang merupakan prediktor terkuat.Kata kunci: Kepuasan Hidup, Big-five, Trait kepribadian Abstract. Life Satisfaction is an important component of subjective well-being. Students of the Faculty of Psychology that learn psychology, need to have life satisfaction in a certain limit (Brammer & Mc Donalds, 2003), to prioritize the well-being of the people their helps if they later become the psychologists. One factor that influences life satisfaction is the personality trait. The purpose of this study is to measure the contribution of personality traits to student life satisfaction. The respondents of this study are 478 students of the Faculty of Psychology from X University, which selected by a simple random sampling technique. Collected data was analyzed with Multiple Regression. Result show that all personality trait are good predictor to life satisfaction, and Agreeableness is the strongest predictor.
