Peer Revew Process
In general, the submitted manuscript is first reviewed by an editor. It will be evaluated at the editorial office to determine whether it fits the journal’s focus and scope and whether it contains any major methodological flaws. Manuscripts that pass this stage will be sent to at least two anonymous reviewers under a Single Blind Review process. Reviewers’ comments are forwarded to the corresponding author for necessary revisions and responses. The suggested decision is discussed in an editorial board meeting, after which the editor communicates the final decision to the corresponding author.
Jurnal Manajemen & Bisnis Madani operates a single-blind peer-review system, in which reviewers are aware of the authors’ names and affiliations, while reviewer reports provided to authors remain anonymous. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two anonymous reviewers.
The benefit of the single-blind peer-review system is that it represents a traditional and widely accepted model, allowing reviewers to provide objective and critical evaluations of manuscripts.
Submissions must represent original and independent work. Each new submission is assessed by one or more editors to determine whether it falls within the scope of Jurnal Manajemen & Bisnis Madani. Manuscripts may be rejected without external review if they lack sufficient applied research content, focus primarily on methodological development rather than application, have substantial issues in research design or data quality, exceed the word limit, are incorrectly formatted, or are poorly written and unclear.
Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are assigned to a subject editor who oversees the review process. All papers undergo peer review, and authors will receive a decision, or an explanation for any delay, within one month of submission. If a revision is requested, the corresponding author must submit the revised manuscript within 2 weeks. Final decisions are made by the editor based on reviewer recommendations. Reviewers are required to declare any conflicts of interest.
Types of Decisions: Decline, Resubmit, Revision, Accept
Decline
Following peer review, the manuscript is deemed unsuitable for publication in Jurnal Manajemen & Bisnis Madani, and resubmission is not permitted.
Resubmit
The manuscript requires major revisions but demonstrates potential. Authors may resubmit the paper as a new submission after addressing all concerns. Publication suitability will be reconsidered only after the editors are satisfied that the revised manuscript meets the journal’s scope and standards.
Revision
The manuscript requires revisions before a final decision can be made. Authors must submit a revised version within 2 weeks of receiving the decision letter, along with a point-by-point response to reviewers’ and editors’ comments. Revised manuscripts may undergo additional rounds of peer review. Failure to adequately address the comments may result in rejection.
Final Accept
The manuscript is accepted for publication, subject to minor revisions and editorial adjustments. After final checks by the editorial office, acceptance is confirmed and the paper is forwarded to the publisher for publication.
